Welcome Alberta Seniors

If you are 65 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and have lived in Alberta for at least 3 months, you may be eligible for a coverage of various dental services up to $5,000 every five years. For example, you may be eligible for new dentures every five years, or denture relines every 2 years.

The coverage is administered by Alberta Blue Cross. To obtain the coverage, you must apply for the Alberta Seniors Benefit Program as soon as you turn 65. Apply on line at http://www.seniors.alberta.ca/financial_assistance/seniors_benefit/apply/ You may also contact Alberta Blue Cross by phone at (780) 427-7876. (When you turn 65, you will probably receive a letter from the government of Alberta, explaining how to access the Alberta Seniors Benefit.)

After you have registered for the Seniors Benefit program, and you need a new denture, a partial, a repair or a soft liner, we will assist you in checking with Alberta Blue Cross if you are currently eligible for those services and for how much coverage. (Eligibility depends on a senior’s income level.) In case of seniors who are 100% eligible, we send your entire bill directly to Alberta Blue Cross.

To help you check your eligibility, we need your Alberta Healthcare card number – please don’t forget to bring it.
